Its no secret that the US and its Western allies have had Iran on their ‘to do list’ for some time, after all conquering the middle east has been a favourite pass time for the West for several decades now.
We all remember General Wesley Clarke’s infamous interview where he explained how the US planned to take out 7 Countries in 5 Years
“This is a memo that describes how we’re going to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran.”
So occupation in Iran has always been in the cross hairs, its just been a matter of when. Well, in light of what is currently happening in regards to these oil tanker attacks and where the finger of blame is being directed that time maybe upon us, or should we say – them, Iran.
The US military has released more photographs to support its claims that Iran was responsible for attacks on commercial tankers in the Gulf of Oman last week, as the Trump administration reportedly prepared to send more troops to the region. [The Guardian]
Patrick Shanahan, acting US Defence secretary announced that they would deploy about 1000 additional troops to the middle east for what he describes as “defensive purposes” over concerns about a threat from Iran.
“The recent Iranian attacks validate the reliable, credible intelligence we have received on hostile behavior by Iranian forces and their proxy groups that threaten United States personnel and interests across the region,”
Where this will escalate too still remains to be seen, but what we do know is that the US has been trying to get their foot in the door to Iran for sometime and if at all possible they will find a way to do so. Don’t expect a small thing like truth and facts get in the way of their agenda.
