Julian Assange Dragged Out of Ecuadorian Embassy and Arrested

Julian Assange has been arrested at the Ecuadorian embassy in London. Video footage shows the Wikileaks founder being dragged out of the embassy and carried into a Police high-security vehicle.

Assange has been at the embassy since 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden over a sexual assault case which was later dropped.

At the Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday he was found guilty of failing to surrender to the court. Now he faces extradition to the US on Federal Conspiracy charges. It will be down to the UK Government whether he is extradited or not to the US.

We will bring you more on this story as it comes in, but at the moment very little is known about what the future holds for Julian Assange.
